Abstract

The appreciation of food culture is one of the principles of Food and Nutrition Education (EAN), which is a field of Food and Nutrition
Security (SAN). Over the last 30 years, Brazilians’ eating habits have changed due to changes in food production and consumption, as well as the urbanization process, making family farmers consumers of foods that were previously exclusively for urban use. With the aim of rescuing traditional recipes from family farming in different regions of the state, encouraging healthy eating habits and stimulating the use of local and regional foods, preferably agroecological, Incaper carried out the Receita da Minha Terra action in two editions, in 2021 and 2023. The recipes were selected by family farmers with the support of Incaper extension agents. Webcards with the recipes were published on Incaper’s Instagram for public voting. In both editions, a video was produced with the recipes that received the most votes and shown in October, in celebration of World Food Day. The population interacted on Instagram during the first edition with 4,511 views and in the second edition, with 13,761 visits to the profile, with the addition of 1,316 new followers. The experience was presented in other spaces, such as the Federal University of Espírito Santo- UFES, II State Exhibition of Experiences in Food and Nutritional Security, Exposul Rural 2023, and submitted to the public call for proposals of the Federal University of Pampa (Unipampa). The vast majority of recipes have been passed down from generation to generation through oral tradition. Both editions demonstrated the cultural diversity and typification of recipes, as well as the creativity in preparing the dishes. The recipes showed a side of the food culture of family farmers and traditional communities in Espírito Santo and contributed to giving visibility to this segment.
