Abstract

The objective of this work is to present successful cases of crop-livestock-forestry systems adoption in family-based dairy farms in mountainous areas of Zona da Mata Mineira. The work began in 2005 and developed in partnership with Emater-MG. The process of implementation of the ICLF system in each property started with a diagnosis and a workshop with each producer later on to define and design the strategy involving the occupation of productive areas of the property. After the implementation, a monitoring was performed with the collection and processing of technical data (productivity, performance, etc.), as well as the collection of technical coefficients for economic analysis. After 12 years conducting the work, the results show that the implementation strategy of ILPF
systems in these areas follows quite different patterns that vary from property to property, so that the system must be designed for each specific situation and will be determined according to the needs and profile of the farm.
