Abstract

This is a literature review about alternatives involving the cultivation of aquatic organisms, with emphasis on fish production, in addition to the importance of agroecology in this context. The objective is to present some practices that, properly managed, can contribute to the development of the activity with less impact on the environment and generate income for rural families, especially small producers. Contents such as practices that help to reduce pollution of water resources, foods that can be partially replaced in fish diet, water quality and species consortium are addressed.
